My Latin American roots and my personal search for self-definition drives me to scrutinize difference theoretically and literally. In All Eyez on U.S., my camera becomes an impertinent observer that acts as the 'other' through which the subject's identity is re-defined and re-contextualized. For this project, the camera is placed directly in front of the subject and sometimes intrusively close to their body. The resulting images resemble a police line up and an anthropological study.
