Alexander R. Galloway is assistant professor of Media Ecology at New York University. Previously Galloway worked for six years as Director of Content and Technology at Rhizome.org. He is a founding member of the software development group RSG whose data surveillance system Carnivore was awarded a Golden Nica at Ars Electronica 2002. As a scholar, he has written on digital media in popular and academic venues alike. Alex's first book, PROTOCOL, or, How Control Exists After Decentralization is forthcoming this year from MIT Press.
